I’m James. I’ve built a successful business over 15 years advising similar MD-level professionals and entrepreneurs on all aspects of their financial planning, with over £30m of assets under management. I’ve been helping clients plan for their retirement since 2006, throughout the market cycle from the bank bailout and resulting austerity; I established my own business in 2015 and grew steadily and successfully, and then recently took the decision to join True Potential Wealth Management as a Senior Partner.
My key skill is communicating in honesty which is rather blunt on occasion, as it simply saves both our time. I feel comfortable challenging clients because I find that they often know what they must do and a confident, objective helping hand is all that is needed in order to balance their competing priorities. I am above all a realist, with a consultative approach rather than a mindset focused on – god forbid – sales alone.
Now based in London’s Square Mile, I originally left glamorous Birkenhead on the Wirral for the south with a plan; I’m glad to say the plan has come together, with our business growing on the strength of relationships and good old-fashioned hard work.
I’m proud of our ability build long-term partnerships with our clients – a result of getting to know them, robustly asking questions about their hopes and financial goals with a focus on results as opposed to products and policies.
While I prefer to leave any assessment of what makes us the best choice to others, I would say we’re qualified and expert in all aspects of pensions, savings and investments, life assurance and business protection. We know what our clients want and know they want it delivered swiftly with zero fuss.
Because we know the realities of the UK financial system, we tend to review our clients’ situations pragmatically and offer bold solutions when necessary.
